I wanted to let you know how well the safety arrow works. Earlier this week I used one while assisting my deputies on one of the busiest highways in the county.

I was with the state police for 28 years, and have been the Sheriff for four years.  I have worked hundreds of accidents and this event was the first time I can recall that there was 100% compliance with a traffic control device.

Upon my arrival to the scene I parked about a quarter of a mile away from the other emergency vehicles.  I placed the safety arrow on the back of my Tahoe, which directed the oncoming traffic to change lanes.  I was pleasantly surprised that over the course of an hour every motorist moved over as directed.

I am pleased with the visibility of the arrow from a great distance.  I have issued the safety arrow to all my deputies.
